Music was my first love. I remember the jitters during sound check. I remember the rush of kicking into the set's first song and the sweaty gasp of a closing number. I remember how much I hated when no one got a good shot of us performing. We felt epic, so why didn't our photos look epic?

When I shoot bands, I want the final images to convey the same attitude and tone of the band being photographed. I want the viewers of each photo to feel the swagger of a show; the sweat; the energy; the sincerity. When they look at photos of your performance, I want them to know they missed a hell of a show.

When it comes to shooting an artist's promotional material, composition is everything. You may only have once chance to tell your viewer about your art, music and what they might experience at your show. I believe portraits should be carefully planned for and executed. Let's start here: If your portrait was going to be on the cover of Rolling Stone, what would you want it to look like? Think about it, then contact me.
